SPD looking for mother in connection with her injured child

Shreveport, LA(KSLA)- Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Investigators are looking for a local woman who was last seen after she initially brought her 4 month child to Willis Knighton Pierremont Hospital on Thursday evening. She told doctors her child was having seizures. But doctors however discovered today that the child actually suffered physical trauma to the head.

Investigators are now looking for the mother, Christina Salter,23. At this time, it is unknown to investigators why the mother left the hospital at 11:30 AM today and has not been seen since, but it is believed that she has another 6 year old child with her.  Salter had a last known address of 5921 Georia Rd in Birmingham, AL.

Anyone having any knowledge of the whereabouts of Salter are encouraged to call Shreveport Police, Detective Sergeant Bobby Grant or Detective David Gardner at 675-2129 or Crime Stoppers at 673-7373.

    The Mississippi Highway Patrol is looking for a driver who ran away from the scene of a deadly crash in George County. Three children were killed in the crash. Troopers said a green 2003 Kia Optima was heading east on Highway 198, east of Depot Road, shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday.
