SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) –Shreveport Police and Fire work three separate major accidents Wednesday morning all of which occurred during morning rush hour traffic.
The first accident was reported around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday on eastbound 3132 at Jewella Ave. and involved six vehicles.
Emergency crews at the scene say that traffic in the area was at a near standstill and a driver came upon the stalled traffic and had to reportedly stop suddenly. Police say that when that car stopped the car behind it ended up rear ending that car and a chain reaction of rear end crashes followed.
Officials say no one was injured as a result of that six vehicle accident.
Less than 30 minutes later, also on 3132 at the Linwood Ave. a similar crash happened only this particular crash, officials say involved three cars.
Again no one was injured.
The third and final major crash Wednesday morning reportedly happened at the intersection of Youree Dr. and Dalzell St.
Shreveport Police say the driver was traveling southbound on Youree Dr., when it too came upon slow moving traffic. Officers say to avoid a major crash the driver allegedly swerved, ended up hitting a curb and rolling over at least once.
Emergency personnel transported the driver to an area hospital with what officials describe as minor injuries.
