Bossier Sheriff: Lake Bistineau fire not intentional

Webster Parish, LA(KSLA)- Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen says that a fire that started yesterday around Lake Bistineau which damaged some lake property and caused damage to one home was not the result of burning trash.

According to the South Bossier Fire District and the Bossier Sheriff's Office investigators, there was no evidence at the scene that the fire was intentionally set for any purpose. At this time, the cause of the fire is undetermined.

Had investigators found proof that the fire was set intentionally, the fire starter would have been fined.

The Bossier Sheriff's Office is reminding the public that the statewide burn ban is still in effect.
