SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport Police continue their search for two men accused of robbing a south Shreveport bank just after 11 A.M. Friday morning.
Police say two men walked into Red River Bank on Bridgewater Avenue located in the 1000 block of Bridgewater Avenue . That's just off of Southern Loop south of I-49.
Police say that one robber had a firearm. One shot was reportedly fired inside the bank. No injuries were reported.
According to police, one of the robbers took an undisclosed amount of money while the other took the keys of an employee's vehicle.
Police investigators are now asking for the public's help in identifying and apprehending the bank robbers.
The first armed suspect is described as a black male, approximately six feet two inches tall with a medium build, wearing a dark shirt, white pants and a white hat. He was wearing dark sunglasses and had some type of dark mask covering his nose, mouth, and chin. He was armed with a dark colored semi-automatic handgun.
The second robber is described as a black male, about five feet ten inches to six feet tall with a medium build wearing a red and cream flannel work shirt and dark pants. He was wearing dark sunglasses and had some kind of cloth covering his mouth. He was wearing tennis shoes with metal cleats on the bottom of them. Both men were described as having low hair cuts.
The suspects fled the crime scene in a stolen 2002 GMC Yukon, dark green in color. Detectives are advising the public of the correct Louisiana license plate number of the car the suspects fled it which reads "KNG128". The vehicle also has a yellow angel sticker in the middle of the back glass.
