BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) –The oath of office was issued Thursday morning in Bossier City to the man that will fill in as interim City Marshal in place of deceased City Marshal, Johnny Wyatt.
Officials with the City of Bossier City name Thursday morning Bossier City Chief Deputy Marshal Rick Ware as the interim Bossier City Marshal.
Ware now will assume the duties of Bossier City Marshal.
Marshal Ware has served in the Bossier City Marshal's Office for nearly 20 years and for the entire duration of Marshal Johnny Wyatt's tenure, according to city officials. Marshal Wyatt appointed Marshal Ware to the position of Lieutenant Deputy Marshal back in 1991.
Officials say Marshal Ware will serve until a special election for Bossier City Marshal is held in the coming months, the date of which will be set by the Bossier City Council.
