Longview mental health worker charged with sexual assault

By Bob Hallmark - email

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - A 48-year-old maintenance worker is charged with sexually assaulting at least one woman at a Longview mental health facility.

Authorities say Calvin Laforest Hutchings is accused of forcing a woman to have sex with him multiple times while she was a patient at the Heavenly Care Community Home, located in the 400 block of Main Street.

Investigators with the Longview Police Department and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services were called to Good Shepherd Medical Center July 23 in response to a sexual assault victim.

Authorities say the mental health patient accused Hutchings of forcing her into sex numerous times. Police say Hutchings may have had sex with other patients, as well. He was arrested Tuesday, and is currently jailed on a $10,000 bond.
