SWEPCO reports power fully restored to Highland area customers

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A transformer caught fire Friday morning in Shreveport resulting in more than 1400 SWEPCO customers losing power.

The fire broke out around 7:30 a.m. behind the Walgreens pharmacy, located on the corner of Line Ave. and Kings Hwy.

At one point, traffic lights about six-eight blocks around the area where the transformer were out and Shreveport Police were seen on each affected block directing traffic.

As of Friday afternoon, SWEPCO officials report that all 1400 customers' power has been restored.
