CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) – Caddo Parish Sheriff's deputies responded Friday morning to a major accident involving a bicyclist.
The accident happened on Mansfield Rd. Deputies say the 46-year-old bicyclist was hit from behind by a car and when deputies arrived on scene, they say the biker was unresponsive.
Deputies say the driver that struck the bicyclist says that he was distracted when he changed stations on his car radio and didn't see the bicyclist riding on the shoulder of the road.
Deputies say the bicyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time, but did have on a reflective safety vest.
The bicyclist was airlifted to LSU Health Sciences Center for treatment, deputies have yet to release a name or condition.
