SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – Investigators have charged a Patrol Officer in connection with a parking lot hit-and-run involving two police department vehicles.
A Shreveport Police officer found minor damage to the front bumper of a department issued car in the parking lot in the 1700 block of Snow Street.
The Shreveport Police Department then began an investigation into what caused the damage. During that investigation, Cpl. Robert L. Rivet admitted he struck the vehicle while operating his assigned police unit, which was not damaged during the accident.
Rivet was charged with one count of hit-and-run in a traffic citation on Tuesday, September 28th. The Chief of Police, Willie Shaw, is conducting an administrative investigation to see if departmental policies were violated.
