London Police foil plot to kill the Pope

Five men in custody after daylight raid

London, England (KSLA) – British authorities say they've arrested five men believed to have plotted an assassination attempt on the Pontiff.

Pope Benedict XVI is in England as part of an historic visit to the United Kingdom.

The Times of London reports that police raided an address in northeast London early today and arrested the men, ages 26-50, locking them up for now under the country's so-called 'Terrorism Act'.
