Young girl and animal control officer bitten by dog

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) – A Bossier City animal control officer and a young girl are bitten after an apparent dog attack.

It happened in the yard of a home on the 300 block of Joannes Street this afternoon.

A six-year-old girl was bitten after trying to run away from a pit bull.

When Bossier Animal Control arrived the officer was also nicked by the dog. The victim's mother says it all happened so fast.

Neither the little girl nor the animal control officer needed medical treatment.

Officials say apparently the pit bull was being possessive because she might have recently given birth to puppies in the area.
