Major Gen. Eubank "Mr. B-52" passes away
SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – Major General William E. Eubank passed away Friday morning in Shreveport. He was known as "Mr. B-52". The Major General flew the first operational B-52 from the Seattle Boeing Plant to Castle Air Force Base in California in 1955. He also participated in Operation Jet Stream in 1958.
According to the U.S. Air Force, Maj. Gen. Eubank was assigned to the 27th Bomb Group at Barksdale Air Force Base. After 30 years of service, he retired as the Deputy Commander of Second Air Force.
Major General Eubank was 98 years old. Funeral services are pending at this time.
