Smoke condition forces partial evacuation of hospital

Two floors cleared at Overton Brooks cleared

Shreveport, LA (KSLA) – Shreveport firefighters briefly evacuated two floors of the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center this morning after a smoke condition in a lower level triggered emergency alarms.

No patients were moved, and only medical/clerical staff – we're told – were forced to leave the building while firefighters worked inside to trace the source of the smoke.

An update on this developing story is coming up on KSLA News 12 at noon with Summer Knowles.
