SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – A water main break in one Shreveport neighborhood has forced the closure of Woodlawn High School for Friday.
Tricia Grayson with the Caddo Parish School Board said the 16" water main broke about a block north of the school. Even though repairs to the pipe should be finished before school begins, Grayson says the broken line requires the school to stay under a boil advisory for 24 hours.
Grayson said the school would close on Friday because there would be no potable water for cooking or hand washing.
Woodlawn High is the only school in Caddo Parish this closing involves and the school will only be closed for Friday. The school should return to normal operations on Monday.
However, for Friday, the school board says no students or staff should go to Woodlawn.
