TEXARKANA, LA (KSLA) – A mother is grieving the loss of her daughter after 7-year-old Vondeya Richardson drowned.
They noticed one child was missing and saw her at the bottom of the pool.
A woman jumped in and pulled the child out. Two others began CPR, and Vondeya was taken to the hospital. Sadly, Vondeya later died.
The mother doesn't understand how it happened.
"She just wanted to go swimming with her little friends; she just drowned," says Christina Atkins, her mother.
"I don't understand she just drown; she just drown."

A fund has been set up at Red River Federal Credit Union in memory of the little girl. It's under "Vondeya Richardson Memorial Fund Account."
