BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - State agriculture officials say Louisiana inspectors have found some eggs recalled by two Iowa farms.
John Walther - in charge of food safety for the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry - said Friday that inspectors found three cases of recalled eggs.
Walther says inspectors are checking with food distributors, restaurants and grocery stores - and have not found any evidence that the eggs came to Louisiana through major distribution chains.
A half-billion eggs were recalled because of salmonella infection. Louisiana is the 15th state where they've been reported.
