Scientists discovery in Lou Gehrig Disease

(KSLA) – Lou Gehrig may not have had what is known as Lou Gehrig's disease. The baseball player suffered numerous head injuries on the field.

Scientists studying spinal cord levels discovered unique proteins in three athletes who suffered head injuries and developed symptoms of ALS but other ALS patients don't have those proteins.

This is sparking speculation in the medical world that Lou Gehrig and other athletes could have had a similar, but different illness.
