Shreveport, LA(KSLA)- Some downed power lines on I-20 and I-220 have caused some big headaches for lots of drivers most on the day on Saturday.
Those power lines reportedly snapped around Friday midnight during a maintenance operation. Authorities then had to shut down the interchange between I-20 and 1-220 in West Shreveport while SWEPCO transmission crews worked on installing four new power poles and removed the downed power lines.
Traffic was detoured to Jefferson Paige road to avoid traffic congestion problem.
According to a SWEPCO spokesman, a separate downed power line, knocked down by a tree, left more than 2800 customers without power for hours Saturday in that same area of West Shreveport.
