I moved to the Ark-La-Tex from the rolling hills of Central Virginia. Before joining the KSLA team in July 2010, I spent two years reporting and producing at WVIR in Charlottesville. There, I covered the disappearance of Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington, the murder of University of Virginia lacrosse player Yeardley Love, the Blizzard of '09 that dumped more than two feet of snow the weekend before Christmas. One of my favorite stories was a disabled girl who was voted homecoming queen by her peers.
I grew up in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, home of the best football outside of the Ark-La-Tex. I am a very proud graduate of the University of Virginia (Go Hoos!!), where I majored in Government and African American Studies. I also went to graduate school at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland-College Park. I'm a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. When I'm not working, I'm probably out meeting new people in my new home, playing a college football video game, watching sports, singing, writing music, or trying to figure out how to cook a decent meal.
I'm beyond excited to be in the Ark-La-Tex. It's a pleasure and an honor to tell your stories, and I look forward to every single one of them that I get a chance to tell. Drop me an email if you have a story idea for me, or just to say hello.
