SPD reaching out to entire Shreveport community through meetings

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA)- The Shreveport Police Department is launching a new operation where they will host a series of city-wide neighborhood meetings this week.

The new initiative is called Operation I.M.P.A.C.T. SPD hopes that these meetings will increase communication and cooperation between police and citizens. Citizens are also invited to meet Chief Shaw.

Shreveport Police officers will host four neighborhood meetings across our city in the coming weeks.

Here is a list of dates and locations:

Thursday, August 12, 2010 @ Broadmoor Baptist Church (in the Memorial Chapel) in the 4100 block of Youree Dr.

Tuesday, August 17, 2010 @ Louisiana State Exhibit Museum in the 3000 block of Greenwood Rd.

Thursday, August 19, 2010 @ Louisiana Technical College in the 2000 block of N. Market Street

Thursday, August 26, 2010 @ Southern Hills Community Center in the 1000 block of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.

All of the meetings will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. And are scheduled to last two hours.
