LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln is criticizing Republican Congressman John Boozman's record on Social Security and Medicare as she tries to fend off his challenge for her Arkansas seat.
Lincoln on Tuesday told nursing home residents that she has a better record of protecting Medicare and Social Security than Boozman. Lincoln is seeking a third term and most polls show Boozman leading her in the November election.
Lincoln criticized Boozman's past support of a plan by former President George W. Bush that would have allowed investing a portion of Social Security benefits in the stock market.
