TEXARKANA, AR (AP) - A former Texas State Trooper who is a registered sex offender has pled not guilty to a variety of charges in Arkansas.
45-year-old Travis McCrae, according to authorities, is being charged in connection with a string of crimes in the Miller County area.
Police say he's suspect of breaking into several homes, including one where he allegedly awoke a sleeping 14-year-old girl and allegedly molested her.
Officials say the Texas Department of Public Safety's sex offender registry says McRae served two months in prison after he was convicted in 1991 of indecency with a 13-year-old girl.
DPS officials say McRae was a DPS trooper in Bowie County for four years before resigning in 1990.
