Train derailment in Bienville Parish

ARCADIA, LA (KSLA) – A train derailment is causing a commuter headache this morning in downtown Arcadia.

Wednesday, the train collided with a log truck in downtown Arcadia in Bienville Parish. This happened at the rail road crossing on LA Highway 9, between US 80 and LA 147.

This closure is expected to last until 6 PM tonight. Possible detour routes are as follows:

For vehicles at Interstate 20 in Arcadia headed south Highway 9, take LA 151 southbound to US 80 eastbound, diverting to Simsboro; at Simsboro, take LA 507 southbound to LA 147 westbound to LA 9; take LA 9 southbound to Bryceland (Junction LA 9/ LA 517).

For vehicles south of Arcadia on LA 9 and headed westbound on I-20, take LA 517 northbound to LA 154 northbound to I-20.

For vehicles south of Arcadia on LA 9 and headed eastbound on I-20, take LA 9 north to LA 147 east to LA 507 north to I-20 at Simsboro.
