Suspicious package left near a gas pump

Shreveport, LA (KSLA)- The Shreveport Fire Department bomb technicians responded to a suspicious package report at the Valero Convenience store located at 9345 Mansfield Road. It happened Friday morning at 9:30 am.

Employees called 911 and reported the suspicious package that was left by a gas pump. Store management reviewed the surveillance video tape from the store and saw that the suspicious package was left by a regular disgruntled customer whom they recognized and employees were familiar with.

The SFD bomb technicians arrived on scene along with Shreveport Police and secured the area in order keep the public safe and away from the scene. A remote control robot was used to approach the package and disrupt it. The package was found not to contain any explosives but was taken into custody for a thorough investigation.
