BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) - Shoppers and employees in Bossier City's Walmart had to evacuate the store for a short time Friday afternoon because of heavy smoke. The evacuation happened shortly after 1pm when workers noticed heavy smoke in the grocery section of the store. Bossier City fire investigators found that a wire connected to a light in the grocery case area had shorted out, causing a heavy amount of smoke in the building. A city electrical inspector deemed the situation was safe to allow everyone back in the building. Electrical repairs were being made and fortunately, no one was hurt. The evacuation lasted about 15-20 minutes.
