Shreveport, LA (KSLA)- Change is coming soon to the downtown area in Shreveport. Mayor Cedric Glover and the Shreveport Regional Arts Council won a 100-thousand-dollar grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to revitalize Common Street downtown.
The grant will be used to add more outdoor spaces for meetings and events as well as draw artists to the area.
"The goal is that the community will all come together and claim this as the next creative area of Shreveport," said SRAC's executive director Pam Atchison.
Shreveport was one of 20 one cities across the country to receive the grant out of more than 200 that applied.
