SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – A Shreveport mother faces cruelty charges after her five week old infant suffered a broken femur bone. Twenty year old Alana Williams of Cedar Creek Circle is charged with one count of cruelty to a juvenile; however, investigators say Williams could face more charges.
Investigators say they received a call from a local hospital on July 14thafter Williams brought her baby into the emergency room for treatment. Investigators say Williams told emergency room personnel that the infant's five year old sibling had accidentally injured the child.
Detectives say the investigation into this case is continuing and that Child Protective Services is also investigating. CPS has placed the infant and her five year old sibling into protective custody.
Shreveport Police have arrested a local woman in connection with an investigation into injuries suffered by a five week old infant.
