CASS COUNTY, TX (KSLA) – Prosecutors have taken the death penalty off the table in the case of a Queen City woman accused of killing her adopted son.
Cynthia Hudson is charged with capital murder in the 2008 death of 13 year-old Samuel Hudson.
The Cass County district attorney says there was a lot of deliberation before taking the punishment off the table.
Investigators say Samuel was beaten with a broom handle and a rake.
His hands and feet were tied with plastic zip ties.
Cynthia Hudson faces life without parole if convicted.
