Authorities searching for man accused of robbing bank at gunpoint

DESOTO PARISH, LA (KSLA) – The search is on this hour for a man accused of robbing an Ark-La-Tex bank. According to Desoto Parish Sheriff's Office, the gunman even fired shots inside the bank while demanding money.

It happened at the Capitol One Bank in Grand Cane, Louisiana; that's 26 miles south of Shreveport.

Federal state and local authorities have been out here for hours trying to find the suspect. The search for him began a little after 11 a.m.

Authorities say he's six-feet tall and was wearing jeans and a black shirt.

He was also wearing a black mask, hard hat and bright green construction vest during the robbery.

"What concerns us is the gun," says Desoto Parish Sheriff Rodney Arbuckle. "We consider him armed and dangerous."

We spotted officers speeding from the bank to investigate a lead and using the K9 units to try to track the man.

Helicopters from the state police were flown in to help find the man, but he's still at large.
