Coroner rules double suicide in teen deaths

BOSSIER, LA (KSLA) – The Bossier Parish coroner has ruled the cause of death as double suicide for two teenagers found shot to death inside a pickup truck last month.  The bodies of 15 year old Myranda Michelle Becton and 16 year old Jack Dylan Kennedy were found in a pickup truck on West Viking Drive in Bossier City Tuesday June 29th.  Each had a gunshot wound to the chest.

Coroner Dr. John Chandler says, "All evidence shows this to have been a double suicide".  The Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office says Dr. Chandler made his ruling based on several things including his observations of the crime scene, autopsy results, test results, and evidence from the sheriff's investigators.  Investigators say suicide notes were found at the scene.

Becton and Kennedy both attended Airline High School.  The investigation revealed the two had been dating and that there was apparently some disapproval from their parents.  Investigators said it appeared the two decided to end their lives together rather than be apart.
