July 13, 2010—Sarepta, La.—Webster Parish Sheriff's deputies caught an unruly driver Monday who was reportedly attempting to chase and ram another driver in Sarepta. As it turns out the driver was determined by officers to be drunk, and he was taken into custody.
Jeremy Lance Willard, 31, of Sarepta was charged with DWI 2nd offense, 2nd refusal to submit to a chemical test, reckless operation, aggravated assault and resisting an officer.
Sheriff's deputies Tony Matteson, Eric Roby and Kyle Greer located Willard on Hwy. 371 at Ashley Road in the Sarepta area following a complaint from another driver who stated that Willard was chasing him at a high rate of speed in an attempt to ram his vehicle.
Upon exiting of his vehicle Willard refused to comply with officers' requests and displayed unruly an uncooperative behavior. Officers noticed an odor of alcoholic beverage and conducted standard field sobriety testing, on which Willard reportedly performed poorly. Willard then refused to submit to a chemical breathalyzer test, of which he is also on record for past denial.
Willard was taken into custody by officers and transported for booking to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
