Census Worker heading to Court

HAWAII (KSLA) – In the case of a Hawaii census worker who was arrested for trespassing, the employee is now heading to Federal Court.

This is the latest example of disputes between census workers protected by Federal law and residents who do not want to deal with them.

In 2000, there were 181 assault or threat incidents reported, involving census workers. So far, through the end of June, the bureau has tallied 436 incidents.
