Bossier City police officer arrested

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) –  An Ark-La-Tex police officer is arrested for reportedly assaulting an elderly relative.

KSLA News 12 has confirmed that Bossier City police officer, James Cole was arrested early Saturday morning after a domestic dispute reportedly turned violent.

Bossier City police say Sgt. James Jeffrey Cole who is a police officer with the same department physically assaulted his relative, then would not let her leave the house.

KSLA News 12 is told by a source that the relative is a woman in her 80's, and that Cole lives with her.

Cole is charged with false imprisonment, simple battery, and simple property damage.

Cole was booked into the Bossier City jail Saturday morning, then transferred to the Bossier Max Facility, where he posted bail on a 35,000 dollar bond Sunday morning.

Cole was already on paid administrative leave for an unrelated issue when he was arrested.

The Bossier City Police Department will conduct an investigation as a personnel matter as well.
