400 lbs. of marijuana found after traffic stop in AR

HOPE, AR (KSLA) – Arkansas State troopers got a big surprise when they pulled over a car: they found several hundred pounds of marijuana.

Two men are now in the Hempstead County jail on drug charges.

During a routine traffic stop on Interstate 30, troopers found nearly 400 pounds of marijuana worth $275,000.

The suspects were driving two separate cars.  Police say one was used as a decoy.

Officials believe the drugs came from the Houston area. They say the suspects were most likely headed to Little Rock.

Police say neither suspect had a valid driver's license. The drugs have been taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab.
