UPDATE: Shreveport Police now have the suspect in custody. The suspect, 22 year-old Michael Scott, surrendered to police a little after 7 p.m. Monday June 28, at the Shreveport Police Complex. Scott had a first-degree murder warrant out for his arrest. Police are interviewing him now to find out the reason behind the stabbing.
SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport Police have now identified a man found stabbed to death early Monday morning inside of a cab in Shreveport's Allendale/Lakeside neighborhood.
The stab victim has been identified by police as 51-year-old Timothy Guyton.
Just before 3 a.m. Shreveport Police were called out to the 300 block of Phoenix Drive on a suspected assault and battery call.
Police say that a caller told dispatch that it appeared as if a man was beating someone in a taxi cab.
Police arrived to find Guyton inside of a cab in the 300 block of Holcomb St, with multiple stab wounds.
Guyton was taken to LSU Health Sciences Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Shreveport detectives have interviewed potential witnesses to this crime and are working at this time to identify and apprehend the suspect responsible
