Arkansas Man Dies in Bossier Parish Crash

Bossier Parish, LA(KSLA)- An Arkansas man died after the dump truck he was driving crashed in a ditch.

Louisiana State Police responded to the crash around 12:04 PM Thursday which happened on LA Hwy 157 about 3.8 miles south of Hwy US 371. The driver was identified as 41-year-old Gregory McWilliams from Magnolia, AR, who was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bossier Parish Coroner's Office.

Police investigation determined that the 2002 Mack dump truck was traveling north when the driver ran off the right side of the road way. The driver then lost control of the truck when he overcorrected the vehicle back to the left causing the dump truck to start sliding sideways. The vehicle then slid into a bridge guard rail and continued off the south side of the road before coming to rest in a ditch.

According to police, McWilliams was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Impairment was not suspected, but routine toxicology tests were pending.
