Bossier City Fire identify woman's body from Red River

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) – Bossier City Fire officials have identified the body of a woman recovered from the Red River Tuesday morning.

The body of 47-year-old Shawn Chuan Martinez of Shreveport was found about 300 yards south of the Arthur Ray Teague Boat Launch, according to officials.

The hour long search began early Tuesday morning and included representatives from the Bossier City Fire Dept. and Caddo Parish Sheriff's office water rescue teams.

Reportedly the call went out to Bossier authorities at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday from members of a surveying crew working at the boat launch who reportedly found clothes on the banks of the river.

Bossier officials say that the clothes were near an area where they had reportedly seen the woman wading in waist deep water Monday morning.

Martinez's car was also reportedly found parked nearby.

Right now Martinez's body is undergoing an autopsy by the Bossier City Coroner who will determine the cause of death. At this point detectives do not suspect foul play as a factor in the woman's death.
