SPD search for 2009 alleged rape suspect

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – Shreveport Police are seeking the public's help in finding a man wanted for rape of a Shreveport woman back in October of 2009.

39-year-old Dave Lee Evans III is wanted by police for alleged rape and home invasion.

Allegedly police investigated the sexual assault of the woman who lived in a home in the 2900 block of Lindholm St. The woman reportedly told police that she was suddenly awakened by a man hitting her on the head with what she thought was a gun.

The victim reported to officers that after the beating, the suspect allegedly sexually assaulted her following which she was, according to police, able to escape to a neighbor's home.

Crime Stoppers and Shreveport Police investigators are seeking information on a suspect wanted in the October 2009 rape and home invasion of a Shreveport woman.

Right now an arrest warrant has been obtained for Evans for aggravated rape and home invasion.

Police describe Evans as a black male, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall weighing about 180 pounds. His last known address was in the 3000 block of Boone Street in Shreveport.

A Shreveport Crime Stoppers reward is being offered to the public for $600.00 for information leading the arrest of Evans.
