Shreveport boy clinging on to life after rollover crash

Shreveport, LA (KSLA)- Shreveport Police Crash Investigators are investigating a major car accident that critically injured a ten year old little boy.

The accident happened at approximately 4:20 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at Lakeshore Drive near the intersection with S. Lakeshore Drive.  When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 1996 Chevy Suburban rolled over on its passenger side.

The driver of the Suburban has been identified as 21 year old Otis McFann from the100 block of E. 63rd.

According to crash investigators, McFann was going westbound on Lakeshore Drive when he apparently lost control of the vehicle. The SUV left the roadway and rolled over, landing on the passenger side. The ten year old child was ejected from the vehicle and both McFann and the child were transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department. The little boy suffered life-threatening injuries and is listed in critical condition. Another juvenile passenger was also taken to the hospital by private auto with non-life-threatening injuries.

Crash investigators believe alcohol was a factor in this crash and have cited the driver with D.W.I. and driving under suspension. This investigation is ongoing and McFann could face other charges.
