SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – An argument between a father and his son in Shreveport turned violent, and the son is now in the hospital recovering from a gunshot wound.
Shreveport Police were called to the 2300 block of Scovell Street and Dalzell around noon on Thursday.
That's where a fifteen year-old boy was reportedly shot once.
After police arrived, detectives looked inside and around the home for evidence, and questioned witnesses.
They say the shooting was the result of an argument.
According to Detective Rod Demery, the father and son had a disagreement, then got into a physical altercation. That resulted in the father shooting the son.
Mitchell has been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm.
The fifteen year-old boy is expected to survive.
The investigation is ongoing.
