College Tuition Raised

LOUISIANA (KSLA) – The Louisiana Legislature says students at public colleges face higher tuition costs this fall and possibly in future semesters.

State lawmakers agreed on Wednesday to allow a tuition increase of up to five percent. The increases are estimated to raise more than 31 million dollars for the schools next year.

Students at Louisiana Tech will see an increase of about $205 and students at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge will see an increase of about $262.

College leaders are asking law-makers for the authority to raise tuition even higher so students and parents should be prepared for more increases.
