Louisiana College Teams Penalized for Low APR Scores

The NCAA has penalized seven Southeastern Louisiana teams because of Academic Progress Rate scores, while McNeese State has had six teams sanctioned.

Nicholls State had four teams penalized and Southern three, while Grambling, Louisiana-Monroe and Louisiana Tech each had one team penalized.

The APR measures classroom performance for every Division I team. Most penalties included a small number of lost scholarships and reduced practice time. No team was banned from postseason play.  Southeastern was penalized 2.79 football scholarships and one basketball scholarship. Nicholls was penalized 1.21 football scholarships. Grambling and Louisiana-Monroe each lost two basketball scholarships, while Louisiana Tech lost one.
