Shreveport man gets arrested during an early morning shooting

Shreveport, LA (KSLA)- A local man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that wounded a man and a woman early Saturday morning in west Shreveport.

Shreveport Police were dispatched to the 5200 block of Monkhouse Drive around 4:35 am Saturday morning relative to shots fired. Upon arrival, police found 22 year old Jetoria Lee and 24 year old Prentiss Johnson suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to LSUHSC with what have been described as non-life-threatening wounds.

According to detectives, at least one of the victims was apparently involved in some type of dispute with a male suspect, identified as 21 year old Richard Cannon. Cannon pulled out a handgun and fired shots. Richard Cannon, of the 4000 block of Emerson Avenue in Shreveport, was arrested by detectives and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on two counts of aggravated battery.
