Shreveport Police investigate 13th homicide of 2010

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – Shreveport Police are investigating the city's 13th homicide. 24 year old LaDarien Myles was shot to death at his own front door Wednesday night in the 400 block of West 74th Street.

Shreveport Police say they have interviewed several people in connection with the case, but so far, no arrests have been made. "I'm gonna hesitate at this point based on what the detectives told me to call them suspects. I would tell you that they're not ruling anything out."

Among those interviewed, police confirm, is Myles' brother in law, Christopher Evans. LaDarien's sister, Cassandra Evans-Myles says she and her estranged husband had been arguing recently over custody of their two young children.  Family members on both sides faced off in a confrontation three days before the shooting that LaDarien's mother says ended with threats toward both Cassandra and LaDarien.  Even though police were present at the time the alleged threats were made, no complaints were filed.

Cassandra Evans-Myles says her brother was an aspiring rapper.  He leaves behind two young children and a fiance.
