Ark-La-Tex officer uses deadly force

MARSHALL, TX (KSLA) – An Ark-La-Tex Police officer has been put on administrative leave after a shooting that left a robbery suspect dead.

Authorities in Marshall, Texas first responded to the armed robbery of the EZ-Mart in the 2500 block of West Pincrest Drive. The two suspects in the robbery were arrested after losing control of their vehicle and crashing into a ditch. The third suspect in the robbery was chased on foot into a nearby wooded area.

The officers were forced to use deadly force at some point in this chase leaving one of the three suspects dead. No other details have been released but the Texas Rangers are investigating the officers use of deadly force.
