CARTHAGE, TX (KSLA)- One family will end this Memorial Day weekend on a very sad note with the loss of a loved one.
An 18 year-old boy was out with his family on Lake Murval, when he drowned.
That drowning happened around 5:30 p.m. Sunday evening.
The victim, whose name is not being released at this time, did not know how to swim, but made his way out to the "no swim zone" of the lake.
Investigators recovered the his body, and he was pronounced dead.
Panola County Sheriff's Office, Texas Wildlife & Fisheries Game Warden, Clayton and Gary Fire Departments all responded to the drowning.
