FENTON, La. (AP) - Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff Ricky Edwards says an ultralight plane flew into some high power lines and crashed near Fenton, killing the pilot.
A photograph on KPLC-TV's website shows the bright blue plane upside down in the median of Highway 165, its tail bent up. Edwards says he got word of the crash about 9 a.m. Saturday.
Witnesses told KPLC the plane was flying low around 8:30 a.m. It crashed about three miles south of Fenton. Deputies told the station that the pilot's name was being withheld until his family could be notified.
