Ark-La-Tex soldier killed in Iraq

ARK-LA-TEX (KSLA) – The War on Terror has claimed another Ark-La-Tex life.

Major Ronald "Wayne" Culver, the third Ark-La-Tex soldier killed in action this month, from injuries received during a roadside bombing attack Monday morning, Iraqi time.

KSLA News 12 has learned that Culver's team was providing convoy support for supplies, and was returning to a camp near Talil, in southern Iraq, when his vehicle was attacked by an IED. 
One other soldier was injured in the attack and is expected to be okay.

This was the second deployment to Iraq for the 44 year-old armor officer.
A squadron executive officer with the Louisiana National Guard's 2nd of the 108th cav.

He was a graduate of LSUS, and is survived by his wife Tracey, and his two children Ronald Wayne, III and Michelle.
