SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – Emergency crews captured two mysterious barrels floating down the Red River Sunday afternoon.
Authorities say, it's still unclear how the barrels ended up in the river.
Crews fished them out near the area of Sam's Town Casino on the Shreveport side.
They have sealed-up the barrels and will send them for testing to figure out what was inside of them.
"It was a 55-gallon drum," says Chief Scott Wolverton, Shreveport Fire Department. "We sealed it up to keep anything from leaking out of it."
Chief Wolverton also tells KSLA News 12 that they turned over those barrels to the Louisiana State Police to handle the testing of the chemical or chemicals inside those mystery barrels.
