Local Soldier killed in Afghanistan

DUBBERLY, LA (KSLA) – A U.S. Army soldier from Webster Parish was killed in Afghanistan on Tuesday May 18th  in the line of duty.

Spc. Joshua A. Tomlinson, 24 years old from Dubberly, was one of 5 soldiers killed on Tuesday in Kabul, Afghanistan after enemy forces attacked their convoy.

The US Department of Defense confirms for KSLA News 12 that Tomlinson died along with four other soldiers supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

According to friends of the Webster Parish soldier, the soldier's body is to arrive at a U.S. Air Base in Dover, DE this morning.
